De PAL 8 met mag. 10.9 en een V.tip = 15.4 en de V(HB) = 17.3 is nu niet echt een object voor de Maksutov, maar toch met een grote van 5.2’ boogminuten zijn er enige details te bespeuren.

Bij 75x zwak zichtbaar met een zwakke verheldering naar de kern toe. Indruk van een ronde vorm die tamelijk scherp begrenst is.

Bij 180x idem van uitzicht en nog steeds geen opgeloste sterren in de nevel. Pal 12 opgezocht maar was niet waarneembaar in de Maksutov.

I never thought I could observe this globular with my Maksutov. But with a size of 5.2’ there are some details in this small weak patch.

By 75x it’s a weak round nebula, with a brighter core. The edges are fairly sharp. By 180x still the same details and no solved stars in the nebula.
