NGC 4038/39 & NGC 4361 & M104 & M68

NGC 4038/39 Antennae Galaxy’s in het sterrenbeeld Corvus.

Bij 142x zijn beide neveltjes zichtbaar, vorm is duidelijk een hartvorm met de tip naar het oosten gericht. Het noordelijke stelsel de 4038 is het helderst van beiden. Aan de noordzijde van de 4038 is een verheldering in het oppervlak waarneembaar.

To see details I used 142x then you see the shape of both galaxy’s together as a heart. The tip of the heart is pointed east. The brightest one is the northern galaxy 4038, there is also a brighter part in the north area of the nebula. The 4039 is without details and homogeneous enlightened. The edges of the heart shape are well defined.


NGC 4361 Planetaire nevel in het sterrenbeeld Corvus.

Bij 89x is de planetaire nevel goed haalbaar als een rond zwak schijfje met een wat helderder kerndeel.

Bij 142x het schijfje is niet scherp begrensd, vorm is rond met verheldering naar de kern toe. De cst is waarneembaar.


NGC 4361 Planetary nebula in the constellation Corvus

An easy to spot disk with a round shape, the centre is a little brighter.

At 142x the surface disk is still round with a brighter core.

The outer edges are not sharp and there is no cst. visible.


M 104  Sombrero Galaxy in het sterrenbeeld Vigro.

Bij 89x een fantastisch zicht, het stelsel wordt door midden gesneden door een fijne stofband. Deze stofband bevindt zich ten zuiden van de heldere kern. De hallo sterkt zich langs beide zijden uit als een ronde bol.

Bij 142x zijn de details duidelijker en is er ten noorden van de stofband een breder neveldeel aanwezig met een lengte die gelijk is aan de stofband.


M104 the Sombrero galaxy in the constellation Virgo.

A fantastic sight at 89x, the galaxy is cut in two pieces by a very thin dust lane. This belt of dust and gas is situated south of the bright centre. There’s a bright halo stretching on both sides of the dust lane.

Those details are much better at 142x and the biggest part of the galaxy nebula is on the north side of the dust lane. This part has the same length like the dust lane.


M 68 bolhoop in het sterrenbeeld Hydra.

Bij 89x duidelijk zichtbaar zoals een sneeuwbal met heldere kern. Kern verhelderd trapsgewijze. Randsterren perifeer waarneembaar.

Bij 142x mooie bolhoop, veel opgeloste sterren. Kern blijft nog onopgelost. Sterren verdeeld in armpatronen ingebed in zwakke nevel.


M68 Globular cluster in the constellation Hydra.

Its like a snowball hanging in space, the core is brighter and fades out in steps. At 89x with advert vision I can see the first stars appearing at the edge of the cluster.

At 142x the stars are making chain patterns through the centre.
